All sorts of exciting things are happening around the church. I can honestly say I get pumped up every day just thinking about them!
Hopefully you are taking part in the particular offerings that will take you to the next point in your journey with the Lord. Whether it’s by taking a class in the School of Ministry, or deeping your understanding of the Lord while worshiping with other believers in the new Thursday night service, or getting more deeply plugged into nxtSTP, or serving in Second Saturday, or some other option, I trust you are holding nothing back in the great open door for growth God is giving you.
Let’s be honest: it’s a challenge to live for Jesus in the world today. In his most recent book The Good Life, Charles Colson puts it this way: “Our difficulty in understanding how the world works and how we fit into it has been aggravated, I believe, by the false expectations our culture breeds. We are like people trying to go up the down escalator. We huff and puff and go nowhere. The problem is, the culture is pushing one way, and we haven’t figured out it’s the wrong direction. When we ask the basic questions about our purpose and meaning, we receive false answers. Our attempts to live by these misleading answers inevitably leave us angry and terrified. What we need is to seek the true picture of how the world really works and what we need to live well.”
At Crossroads, you have multiple opportunities to get “the true picture” as God gives it to us in His Word. Make sure you’re fully invested in what He is doing, that you might have all the strength and help you need to navigate any rapids you might face!
